Lions and Tigers, but no Bears.

Today we went to see the Cango Caves in the morning. The caves were found mistakenly by a Shepard looking for his lost herd. These caves were used by tribesmen, they told us that the caves had cave drawings long ago but because people can't keep their hands to themselves, the drawing have been worn away over time.

The large cave was used at one point as concert hall, the acoustics were great in this that area. Since we weren't on the adventure tour of the caves, which apparently is several hours long, we were only able to see the first sections of the caves, which were still pretty neat. They did tell us a story about how a lady got stuck on the adventure tour about ten years ago. There is a section of the cave where it is very tight to go through and she was a heavier lady and was told she could wait while the rest of the group went on (there is only one way in and one way out). However, she thought she could fit through this narrow entrance after the group had gone on, only to get stuck. She had wedged herself in where it ended up taking 11 hours before they could get her unstuck. With the help of muscle relaxers, oil and brute strength.

From the caves we went to go the Cango Wildlife Ranch. We got to see a number of African animals and had the opportunity to meet a cheetah in person. As the handler waved us over, she was purring up a storm.

She seemed to throughly enjoy the pets we were giving her while she dozed in the afternoon heat.

The hotel we're staying at tonight is upscale ranch style hotel. We had so many pillows on the bed that Jonathan decided that he had to make a pillow fort!

Clearly we are grown adults here. It seems that we are one of the youngest couples here, but that doesn't surprise us anymore really. Jonathan also was teaching me how to play chess tonight. The second game was pretty played, I gave up a good fight but when I only had the King and a Pawn it's hard to win.
