Why is it always me?

Today we we out Dolphin and Whale watching... Unfortunately, they were no where to be found. I guess they decided to take advantage of the nice day and go out to sea. Although, we did get to see seals, lots and lots of seals! We got to watch how a seal tears apart it's dinner. The one seal we saw, had caught a fairly large fish, and to tear it apart so she could eat it. She whips it around on the surface.

Once the seagulls found out she was eating, they were swooping in for the little bits. The area we were in has the largest number of cape seals, apparently over a thousand of them. And apparently they can climb the rock face.

After, we went so a monkey sanctuary and to see some free flight captive birds. The monkey sanctuary was pretty cool, they rehabilitate monkeys that have been either in a lab, zoos, circus, or even pets and let them be monkeys again. Not only do they have monkeys they also have lemurs. Here are some pictures:

They were making quite the ruckus while we were there, our guide thought it was because one had seen a predator and was letting everyone else know about it, which set all of them off. One of the monkeys tried to steal Jonathan's sunglasses right out of his hands!

Right next door to the monkey sanctuary is a free flight bird facility. They had extremely tall pillars that held the netting up to keep them in this area. It's actually quite a huge area, it took us about two hours to walk around.  We saw a ton of colourful birds. We had a few dive bomb our heads trying to get the the feeding stations. Here are a few pictures:

At one point, there was a smaller parrot hanging out on top of an aloe plant, he was looking at me, I was looking at him. And the next thing I knew he was on my head!! I swear there is something about my hair that screams nesting materials to birds. This isn't the first time I've had a bird try to steal my hair. Jonathan laughed at me, and this bird was quite content to sit on my head!!

Of course after Jonathan snapped the above pictures, he helped me get the parrot off my head.

There were birds from all over the world there, and of course they had Canadian Geese. Which in the booklet, they call Giant Canadian Geese, which we had to laugh at, cause that's just their standard size.

All in all, it was a rather enjoyable day.
